About Me

Dáire was born in Dublin, Ireland. Arts and music played a role in his life from a very young age and he began learning trumpet at the age of 7. His love for theatre developed when he worked on several school productions per year in Dublin’s O’Reilly Theatre.

After finishing school, Dáire completed an Associate Diploma in Trumpet Teaching with distinction from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, while taking lessons in conducting. Dáire then completed a Bachelor Degree BA Hons in Stage Management and Technical Theatre at The Lir Academy in Dublin. He subsequently completed internships with the Irish National Opera as well as the English National Opera.

Following his studies, Dáire spent several months volunteering in Europe. He ultimately settled in Liechtenstein and worked with eventpartner pro AG for 2.5 years. Dáire planned the lighting of international festivals, such as FL1 Live, Vaduz Soundz and Vaduz Classic. He also contributed to government events, local theatre productions and stadium concerts. During this time Dáire provided the lighting for acts such as James Blunt, Die Fantastichen Vier, Gotthard, Michael Patrick Kelly, and Jan Delay. He also worked with multiple classical festivals featuring artists such as Jonas Kaufmann, Andrea Bocelli and Nigel Kennedy.

Since September 2024, Dáire has worked with Opera House Zurich as lighting console operator. He enjoys working on smaller projects on the side in local theatres and beyond. Dáire recently completed lighting design for experimental contemporary classical and heavy metal group ‘By A Sky’ in Dublin and a lighting design for Morton Feldman’s ‘For Philip Guston’.
